The CMOP Datamart offers:
» flexible data access—not just canned, pre-generated images.
» coverage—online access to the entire CMOP observation archive—not just current observations.
» specificity—access just what you need, just when you need it — no need for bulk downloads.
Every Datamart product:
» is configurable and generated on-demand in response to user-specified parameters.
» provides access to the underlying data —allowing you to repurpose as needed
» complete—with metadata describing the source of the data.
» accessible as a web service—therefore ready to customize with your preferred programming language or environment.
Datamart Technologies
» The underlying technology is the product factory, which in turn relies on the Python programming language, the mod_python apache plug-in, and the matplotlib library for rich plotting and visualization.
» The web content is delivered by Drupal, a content management system built with PHP.
» The observation database is managed using PostgreSQL, extended with the PostGIS spatial extensions.
