Code for Days: A CMOP Experience

05/08/2015 Day 1

Goal: define direction: I spook with Dr. Peterson today and she gave me and my partner a direction to go in. There is this relatively new idea that at low levels of water flow the M.major is able to grow and then cause a large bloom. Dr. Peterson told us that looking at cell counts in the water, there is a sudden and very dramatic increase at a certain level of outflow. She said it would be helpful if Bailey and I could put some stats behind this idea and give it a little more meat. So I think I will look into this and make it my primary goal. We were also give a paper by W. Rockwell Geyer and Parker MacCready about estuary circulation. So will be spending some time reading that and preparing for W. Rockwell Geyer to visit.

End off day: This paper was crazy dense and I definitely did not understand most of it, but it gave me some cool ideas. Tomorrow I would like to look at the data explorer.
