RIVET-II
RIVET-II is an Office of Naval Research (ONR) research initiative directed at understanding processes in coastal inlets and rivers mouths, with geographic focus on the Columbia River mouth.
CMOP’s collaboratory SATURN provides important contextual information and interactive products that support many investigators, from multiple institutions, who participate in this ONR initiative.
Contextual information includes daily forecasts of circulation and simulation databases from the Virtual Columbia River and real-time data streams from sensors of the observation network.
Interactive products include the Data Explorer, that allows interactive manipulation of SATURN data streams; and an on-demand Particle Tracker, that helps gain insights into the complex dynamics of the Columbia River lower estuary and its immediate plume.
