WEEK 4

My fourth week interning at CMOP has really gone by fast. So far my time has been spent working on extracting DNA samples which I can proudly say was completed on tuesday afternoon. It was also really good to see that there were concentrations of DNA present in each which appeared after running an electrophoresis gel. I also finally used the autoclave machine to sterilize pipet tips, test tubes, collection tubes, and trash. Wednesday so far has been great since Tyler and I have been able to set up and run a PCR for all 64  of the remaining samples with both SAR 11 and Archaea primers. While busy I have been very productive this week which I can say I am pleased. I am looking forward to working more with microarrays soon.
