Week 10: 8/10/09 - 8/14/09

I have now finished my powerpoint and have refined it several times, and am waiting to give my presentation. I am a little bit more nervous about this presentation than I am about the last one. This presentation feels so final. I am lucky though because my presentation is on Thursday so I don't have to wait too long.

We have finally finished the initial density program and have had it run (YEYYYYY!). Its awesome to FINALLY see the results of this internship. There is no way that I could have done any of this work with out my mentor's help. He's really given me some perspective on how to be patient with people. I came into this project with absolutely NO knowledge of sediment, modeling, or MatLab but am leaving with quite a bit of knowledge. I've even designed a couple of cool graphs on my own and problem solved to find the clearest way to present the information. I have definitely come a long way since the beginning of this internship.

The only thing I have left to do for this internship is to compile all of the data and MatLab programs that I have created and write a paper about the work that I have done. I'm hoping that the paper will be pretty easy since I have all of the information compiled in my presentation. Luckily, Jordan (intern) has a book that tells the format of writing a scientific paper so that should really help me out.
