Jeff's VBlog: First Day at CMOP

The halls of the Cooley Science Center were hauntingly quiet at 8 a.m. this morning as I started my first day at CMOP. I was hired to be the web/marketing coordinator, a great opportunity to help tell their story. As I walked through the silent building, I wondered how much was actually going on in the center. Those concerns would all fade within the first hour.

I learned that SATURN 01 and 02, loaded with a full suite of sensors, went online last weekend. Two researchers recently returned from working in Alaska. On Friday, there is a High School event called SMILE going on at Oregon State University. A group of CMOP scientists are at sea collecting samples and taking readings. The amount of activity going on is amazing.

So hang on. I am going to be bringing these stories and more to the web.
