Post-Doctoral Research Staff
New position, posted July 3, 2007
Position location: OHSU-OGI, in Beaverton, OR
Target start date: Available immediately
The NSF Science and Technology Center for Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction (CMOP) http://www.stccmop.org invites applications to fill an immediate opening for a post-doctoral research staff position. CMOP is committed to improving the diversity of the U.S. workforce in science and engineering; we strongly encourage women and individuals from underrepresented minority groups to apply.
Under the supervision of the CMOP Director, the successful candidate will conduct interdisciplinary research on ecosystem modeling in coastal and estuarine environments. The work will build upon CMOP's state-of-the-art hydrodynamics models to develop an interpretive and predictive framework for ecological and fisheries processes, as influenced by anthropogenic activity and climate variability.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in ocean sciences or related field, with expertise in ecosystem modeling; a strong background in biogeochemistry, environmental microbiology or related area is preferred. Although the position is located on the West Campus of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), the work will involve extensive collaboration with scientists at partner academic and government organizations.
The application consists of a letter describing the candidate's interest in the position, a CV, two representative publications and the names of three references. Please submit application materials to:
