CMOP Education Directors will be at the annual conference for the Society for the Advancement of Chicano and Native American Scientists. They are invited panelists (see sessions details below) and will co-host a booth with other STC's and OHSU. Baptista will attend for one day to deliver a presentation.

Geoscience Education and Native Americans: Changing the National Dialogue on Our Environment

Session Description
Native Americans as stewards of tribally-owned lands have a crucial role to play in the national dialogue on the environment. Our session will initiate a new national group of individuals interested in pursuing new strategies and methodologies for improving recruitment and retention of Native Americans in the geosciences.
