FINAL WEEK

Wow, what a week. Everything came together. Andrew revised my paper multiple times, and now it is ready to be sent in to Vanessa. My powerpoint presentation is also ready to go - I gave an informal practice talk today in front of Andrew and another lab member (this proved to be very helpful). It looks like I'm ready for my presentation tomorrow!

I have to say that this was such an amazing internship. Although I got frustrated at times, I learned that it's all part of the scientific process - you try and you fail, then you try again and fail again. It only makes getting it right that much sweeter :)

Also, I think this internship is one of the best for science oriented undergraduate students. I have so many friends that have "great" internships. Yeah, basically they get to watch other scientists do their work. I got to do my own work. I made my own mistakes, and I learned greatly from them. After these 10 weeks, I'm walking away with solid research experience, something a lot of internships don't offer.

I really want to thank my mentor for all he's done, Vanessa Green for putting together such an amazing internship, and CMOP for allowing me this opportunity. Hopefully I'll be back next year with a new project!
