CMOP Cruise Planning Mtg 2/11
Cooley Science Ctr, Room 7212 (OGI campus)
Also by Videoconference (vtc.stccmop.org##1013)
Brief agenda:
1) Discuss individual and overarching research questions.*
2) Discuss details of cruise planning and preparations.
*Byron Crump received a handful of "Research Questions," and will pull together a summary of these questions with help from Lydie. If any one else has questions to contribute please send them soon to Byron.
Here are some questions & notes from our Marine Engineer and primary Wecoma contact Dave O'Gorman to think about:
1) Can OSU marine technicians fill one of the berths on the July cruise with a Mate Intern. who will be available to help out? (I think yes)
2) Do we need a cold van for the coring work? (Not sure)
3) Can we put the isotope van on the 01 deck rather than the fantail? (I think yes)
4) The Dept. of Homeland Security will soon require anyone entering a secure dock facility (e.g., Astoria Docks) to have, or be accompanied by someone who has, a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Dave recommends that at a minimum the chief scientists on the cruises get these cards. Dave (cc-ed) can help with instructions on how to get one. More info here http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/twic/index.shtm.
