Description
The Science and Technology Center for Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction (CMOP) seeks to add to its expertise in river-to-ocean observation, understanding and prediction. A faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level is immediately available, with primary appointment through the Department of Environmental and Biomolecular Systems (EBS) at the OGI School of Science & Engineering, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).

Qualifications
Candidates should have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research, education, knowledge transfer and diversity, and distinctive research expertise in two or more of the following areas:
»Understanding of coastal margin ecosystems and processes, and their interaction with climate, global elemental cycles, anthropogenic activity and human health.
» Advanced modeling of coastal margins.
» Observation of estuaries and shelves with advanced platforms or sensors.
The successful candidate is expected to develop an independently strong research program, while adding to and expanding the scope of the research and knowledge transfer expertise of the CORIE research team. The successful candidate will contribute to the education mission of both CMOP and EBS, by teaching graduate level courses, advising graduate students, and providing training opportunities for undergraduate and high-school students. He or she will promote an environment that fosters diversity in research and education.
Requirements
Ph.D. in oceanography or related field, with anchor expertise in either modeling or observation technologies. Ability to develop an independently strong research program, while working in a highly interdisciplinary environment. Strong commitment to teaching, student advising, and diversity in science and education.
