"When the environment is sick, people get sick"

Make a present to the future

Imagine a future where the Pacific Northwest is renowned for a sustainable economic development model, and for innovations in a healthy environment and a healthy population.

Imagine a future where the Pacific Northwest exports more ocean science and technology than it exports natural resources from the ocean.

Imagine a future where young scientists and engineers bring their energy and expertise home to every Pacific Northwest community.

As one of the few National Science Foundation Science and Technology Centers, CMOP is uniquely positioned – at the national and international levels - to advance ocean science and technology and to leverage kids’ fascination with the ocean into effective educational pipelines extending into college, graduate school, and the workforce.

With your support, CMOP can fuel the region’s economic engine through exports of science and technology, while training a diverse, scientifically literate and technology-savvy workforce. It can also help improve the health of the Pacific Northwest rivers, estuaries and coasts, and better integrate environmental factors in the quality of life and health of the region’s population.

To capture the opportunities ahead, CMOP must expand its faculty and student base. CMOP must also make the kind of infrastructure investments that will create a vital and dynamic partnership between academia, industry and society.

To learn about giving opportunities, please contact Linda Getting, Director of Development, at 503-748-1465. You can also make a gift online via the OHSU Foundation; simply click make a gift next to the line designated for The Center for Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction. Thank you.
