Data Description
Each vessel is typically equipped with a flow-though sensor package (sometimes referred to as a thermosalinograph (TSG)), a Conductivity Temperature Depth (CTD) sensor package for overside casts to record vertical profiles, and an Acoustic Doppler Profiler (ADP) to record vertical profiles of velocity.
Below is the available metadata for each sensor, by cruise and vessel. Metadata compliant with Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standards for each dataset are forthcoming. Data processing level varies between datasets, but is consistent for a particular instrument/vessel/cruise combination. Processing level is described below under notes.
