External Advisory Board for CMOP
The External Advisory Board (EAB) of the Center for Coastal Margin Observation and Prediction (CMOP) provides advice and feedback to the Director of CMOP.
All National Science Foundation Science and Technology Centers, including CMOP, are required to have External Advisory boards, which, in turn, should:
» Consist of members independent of the STC they are advising.
» Serve to guide and provide feedback to the Director of the STC.
» Represent the various stakeholders of the STC.
» Evaluate the effectiveness of the STC in meeting its various objectives.
Members of the EAB are expected to:
» Visit the site once a year in order to provide feedback,
» Invest time necessary to understand the goals of the STC and its commitments and
» Provide feedback in the following areas:
(1) Appropriate research directions and goals
(2) Needs of stakeholder groups, theirs and others
(3) Opinions of Center activities and suggestions for new activities
(4) Funding/selection of K-12, outreach and social science programs
(5) Evaluation of various communication methods and suggestions for improvement
(6) Assistance in selection and means to fund research projects
(7) Assistance in setting priorities
