WEEK 5

After returning on tuesday from the holiday weekend I have been busy just trying to catch up with my work. Since Tyler and I have begun branching off to work on our own individual projects I have spent most of the week working independently diluting solutions and running PCR reactions on various cDNA cruise samples using different gene primers. 

Wednesday afternoon and Thursday were really productive though since I was able to speak with Jon about my individual project and start working on it as well. Most of thursday was spent getting acquainted with and working on the CLC sequence converter program. On this I was able to look at specific gene primers and locate a section of a gene that they bind with. I plan to spend today running another electrophoresis gel and working on my presentation for next week.
