Well this week has had both its frustrations and its joys. I did get my sensor to pick up particles magnetically, which is a great proof of principle. Today I am going to try and film the particles as they stick to the surface, which could be pretty cool. I'll try to put it on the blog next week if it works.
On the bad side, winding the electromagnet has presented some difficulties. The shrink wrap tubing I'm using has been bunching up on me, and it makes it rather hard to get a good winding. So far to fix this problem I have been moving the lathe by hand, which it slow but works. This week I'll be making up what will hopefully be my final electrodes and also writing up the paper for Ms. Furse.
