WEEK 2 6/23/08-6/27/08

Yay, I finally got my own account so I can log on..sweet.
So, this week my partner's not here so I'm working on my own...boo... but so far I downloaded Saturn 01 data from the website, imported it into Excel and tried to find correlations between the change in salinity and turbidity. I also calculated the moving averages of the change in salinity and turbidity so as to try and filter the data and see the patterns more clearly.

I also learned why the ETM is so important and why it is a big deal to find it. Grant and I (mostly Grant) and Joe Needoba looked at the patterns between the change in salinity and turbidity when they were graphed together and there was some interesting things that came up (Grant got really excited :]), so now I've got to do more graphing and analyses to help explain why it's so interesting.
I'm also making a powerpoint that shows the highlights of the work and a diagram in Paint that shows how the salt wedge moves with the tides and affects the station's salinity readings...

Well...that's about it. Tomorrow's the site visit...yay...

Ohh...and we had a lunch at the primate center, but sadly we did not get to see any monkeys :[
OH...SATURN stands for Science and Technology University Research Network. ;]
