Last Part to a Great Experience

Monday: Continued writing paper, added an exponential function to the function set in my genetic programming code for SHO, spoke with Tuomas about fixing exponential function in code for SHO, and ran SIL SR to see if would generate similar results to a good run from last week.

Tuesday: Continued writing final paper, spoke with Tuomas to prepare for presentation on Thursday (Aug. 15th), and added more labels to SIL and SHO graphs. I was able to find a reference http://matplotlib.org/examples/pylab_examples/usetex_demo.html for adding text with color in my graphs. They looked good. I later finished a very rough draft for Tuomas to read.

Wednesday: I worked with Tuomas to prepare for final presentation.

Thursday: I finished the final elements of my PowerPoint presentation and presented it. The presentation went well but I could improve on it, of course. Haha!

Friday: I finished off this internship by saying my thank yous, so longs, and good byes to people. I also took some photos for my personal memerobilia and got a chance to talk with Antonio Baptista who told me I did a great job presenting. He also gave me some constructive critiscism and I really appreciated that. Getting contrsuctive feedback from "The Man" was a great way to finish this internship.

Thank you to all te people who helped to make my wonderful experience possible: Vanessa Green, Antonio Baptista, Charles Seaton, Tuomas Karna, Amy Johnson, Nievita Bueno Watts,  Kristina Remple, Wendy Smythe, Sheree Watson,Clara Llebot,  Mojgan Rostmania, Jeff Schilling, Michael Thompson, Ethan van Matre, Jim Mohan, Bonnie Gibbs, Nancy Christie and others whom I didn't mention. The men and women whom I did encounter contributed to how much I got from this opportunity. People from different personal and acedemic backgrounds made my experience more enriching. I found so many good-natured, hard-working, intelligent, supportive individuals. Beaverton and the surrounding areas were really nice and had much more to offer than where I'm from. This is a great place with so many friendly people. By the end I was ready to go home but it was hard leaving. Time here went too fast but I got as much as I could from this. I would recommend this internship to others who wanted to know more about it. I felt like I was contributing to the big picture of life. Thank you so very, very much!
