Week 7- Reconstitution?

A fairly uneventful week... I have been running the purifications on my own and busting out as much PHM as I can (which in the end turns out to be a discouragingly small quantity) But I have gotten very comfortable with the procedure and can now multitask two of the steps at once!

Wednesday I got to watch Nikki run some samples through the ICP-OES which measures the metal concentration. It is a very complicated machine and the procedure is similar to the concept behind a bradford. I was told today that I would get to run a sample of my own through it, however first I will have to reconstitute the PHM with Copper because there is no metal for the machine to pick up on. So I will get to learn how to reconstitute and run the ICP which is veyr exciting!
