Week Ten: Wrapping everything up

This was my last week at CMOP and I was both happy and sad about that fact.  On one hand, it means I'm that much closer to starting school again, but on the other hand it meant I wouldn't be able to come into lab and work every day.  Sadly, this last week was mostly spent working on my presentation and final report, meaning not a whole lot of lab work got done.

I had a really fantastic time here this summer and learned a lot of valuable lessons - especially those about being efficient with time.  Unfortunately, the project i was given requires long-term research to fully answer the question, "How does Euduboscquella impact red water blooms in the estuary?".  I was able to come up with some preliminary answers and help shape the direction of research, but I did not come up with a solid conclusion.  Sadly, that is the downfall of only getting to work on a project for 10 weeks, but I think this experience was even more valuable because of that; I had a limited amount of time to get a lot of work done and take this project off the ground, and I think I suceeded in both accounts.

I hope you had a fun time reading my journey for the summer, I know I certainly had fun in the lab.  Until (maybe next year?) next time, Deirdre
