Our day on July 12 was eventful. Still working through seasickness, our team set out to sample the Newport Hydroline. We managed to collect nearly all the samples in the plan: 9 CTD casts (NH-3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, 45, 55), 3 sets of water samples (NH-3, 10, 20), two core samples (NH-10, 55), and a primary productivity measurement at NH-10.

We were rolling along well until we ran into trouble with some of our CTD sensors. One was broken beyond repair and the others took some time to get working again. So we decided to spend the evening fixing the sensors, and doing a CTD cast at NH-65 while we awaited the sunrise.
