Week one: 06/22/09-06/26/09

Hello again everyone!
This is now my 3rd year as a summer intern here at CMOP and I'm glad I'm back. Every year things get better here at CMOP. I remember the first year I was here there were only two high school interns, including myself, last year there were five and now this year there are nine of us.

My Last Week at CMOP ='(

This will be my last week at CMOP. I had a great time working here with amazing people. I thank my frontline mentor for all the support he gave me and the other interns. I want to also thank my senior mentor Antonio Baptista for his time in letting us present our work to him and giving use really good feedback. Last but not least, I thank Karen Wegner for all the help and for checking up on us and making sure we were doing okay. All the CMOP staff were really nice to all of us.

Week 4 July 7-10

On Monday were presented our work to Antonio. He gave us feedback and that was great. Tuesday and Thursday I mainly worked on the Estuary Watch web page. On Wednesday all the high school interns created a powerpoint presentation for our parents. We had to show them what we have been doing and what our goals for the summer are. It was fun because we had pizza and I got to hear what the other interns were doing. I was a bit nervous because I had to go first but it turned out to be just fine:)

week 3 june 30 - july 3

This week went by really fast. On Monday we went the seminar about the Response of a Partially- Stratified Estuary to Change in River flow and Tidal Amplitude. It was pretty good, I knew a little about what the presenter was talking about from my internship last year.

Week 2

This week was a little crazy but pretty fun. I continued working with Frontpage to get practice for the real website that I was going to work on for the Estuary Watch. On Tuesday all the us got to go to the Primate Center for lunch. I really wanted to see the monkeys but I was told that we were not going to be able to get a tour...I was sad.
